Hi everyone,
We will have invitations ready to be handed out on Sunday morning inviting new couples to our brunch next Sunday, May 6 to kick off our summer schedule.
Since this is not an official "church handing out in front of the doors" type of scenario - I think the easiest thing would be for any couples interested to meet me back in the fellowship hall at 9:15 (and again then at 10:45 for the 11:00 service) and I will give you a few invitations. These are meant to hand to people that you may be sitting around during the service, or people you may see walking around in the foyer area. It should be a less intimidating way of introducing yourself and inviting them to come to our class. :)
I don't think we'll hand out a ton of invitations - nor technically do we have the permission to do so. But, if a few couples would be willing to carry some invitations around with them in case they see some new couples, that would be great!
It would be great if you would ask some of your small group couples to see if they would also be willing to meet at 9:15 to pick up a few invitations and take them around with them on Sunday. The more, the better! :)
If you have any questions on this, or any other suggestions, please let me know.
Have a great Friday!

Your Time Starved Marriage
How to stay connected at the speed of life… s at 11am in Fellowship Hall
- Are you feeling overscheduled and under connected?
- Would you like to know your unique “time style”- as well as your spouse’s?
- Are you looking for the secret to recouping the rest and recreation you crave?
- Do you want to find a surefire way to create more meaningful time together each day?
The moments you miss together are irreplaceable, gone forever. Now, just in time, we will look at a book by marriage counselors Les and Leslie Parrott. We will show you how to reclaim the time you’ve been missing and how to maximize the moments you have together. This is not a study about being more productive, but a study about being more connected. We will have plenty of discussion in class, as well as assignments during the week, including an internet based survey which helps you discover your unique time style. This is a serious thief in marriages…time starved marriages are not strong marriages.

About the Paynetown Camping Trip...I have recently been informed that due to lack of interest, the April 20-22 Class-wide Camping Trip has been canceled. The Activities Committee may reschedule this trip for a later date when there is more interest.

Married Conferences
Hey Married People! Love the idea of a blog!
Thought I'd let you know about two upcoming marriage conferences...Family Life offers "A Weekend to Remember" in Indy on April 27-29. Scott and I went to this one about 8 years ago and it was fabulous. You can read about it here. This one is pricey but excellent.
"Love and Respect" is a great book--maybe my favorite on marriage-- by Emerson Eggerichs. They also have a conference in St. Louis April 20-21. This conference is cheaper.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Easter Service Times
Remember there is no class this Sunday. Have a great Easter and enjoy one of the services on Saturday night or Sunday morning that makes room for newcomers to enjoy worship at 11:00.
Easter Service Times
Easter is this weekend. We will have 5 services at SOCC.
Saturday, April 7
5:00pm – Fam Jam (designed for parents and children to attend together)
6:30pm – Contemporary service
Sunday, April 8
8:00am – Blended service
9:30am – Blended service
11:00am – Contemporary service
We need to move about 1,000 people from our 9:30 and 11:00am service times to Saturday night or 8:00 Sunday morning to help accommodate guests on Easter morning. Please consider attending one of these alternate services if possible!
